This is an outstanding project for nearly any room. Things to take in mind are:

1. Location -  inside or exposed outside porch  
2. Length from floor - may need extension rod
3. Electrical source
4. Width of fan and clearances
5. Check for box attachments to studs
   They come with light kits and are available in low-profile models for rooms with clearance restrictions.  They can be controlled from the wall switch or at the fan.

I've done hundreds of these installations in new and existing homes in nearly every room.  They are low cost and pay for themselves in energy savings by efficiently moving the air to provide added comfort for the homeowner.  Special bulbs may be required in some cases but most use standard bulbs.  Call me today to install yours.

Crucial to the success of this step is the shape and size of the handrail which should be such that it may be readily grasped.  Many are beginning to see the logic of taking this into consideration for use by the very young and those aging and those having to transport packages up and down the steps.  I have developed and implemented several simple add-ons which I will be glad to share when you call me to plan your next project.
